“There’s a sense of empowerment when you’re in the position to help others. And when you’re able to help others reach their goals and enhance their lives, that sense of fulfillment and satisfaction is something money can’t buy,” says Executive Director 4 Tan Ai Ling, commenting on her favorite part of building a Melaleuca business.

For Ai Ling, this is the reason why her business-building journey is so meaningful. “8 years ago, I was a factory worker who eventually became a stay-at-home mother to my two daughters, so I’ve been in that position where an additional source of income meant the world to my family. When I enrolled in 2016, it was to support my sister Executive Director 4 Ice Tan, but eventually, this business took me further than what I could have dreamed of. My life is infinitely better with Melaleuca, and I’m more than happy to share it with others,” shares Ai Ling.

Ai Ling is especially keen on helping homemakers, like herself, who are striving to contribute to the family and provide a better life for them. Senior Director 4 Emily Tan is a prime example. As a former Melaleuca customer who suspended her account, Emily found a renewed interest in the products and business opportunity when she met Ai Ling.

Emily, who is also a homemaker, was inspired by Ai Ling’s experience and achievements, and was keen to learn more about Melaleuca. She re-enrolled and became Ai Ling’s business partner. “Emily was an eager learner and very coachable. She consistently enquired about product information and business building knowledge, and jumped right in to executing her daily activities,” Ai Ling recalls, saying that Emily enrolled 20 Preferred Customers and advanced to Director 2 within the same month. “Of course, one is bound to encounter problems especially during the initial stages of building the business, but Emily weathered the challenges, and as her support team, I was proud to be able to assist her through it. In a way, it was also a learning curve for me, as I discovered my own strength and capabilities in leading others,” Ai Ling explains. Now Emily duplicates what she has learned from Ai Ling to her own team, growing from strength to strength. “I’m very proud of how far Emily has come in her journey,” Ai Ling shares.

Another business builder who has benefitted from Ai Ling’s tutelage and support is Director 7 Chong Huey Hsin. They used to work together and just like Ai Ling, Huey Hsin also left her job to be a homemaker. “Huey Hsin enrolled to be a product user only and didn’t have any confidence in meeting new contacts, let alone positioning a business proposition to them. But I knew this opportunity was something that could really benefit her and I never stopped sharing how anyone can build a successful Melaleuca business through consistency and duplication of the critical activities,” Ai Ling recalls.

It took some time and encouragement before Huey Hsin agreed to take the plunge and start her Melaleuca business-building journey. “It came down to this–I did not want to remain a homemaker with no income for the rest of my life. Besides, Ai Ling’s achievement really showed me that this is a possibility for me as well,” Huey Hsin, explains. With Ai Ling’s guidance and coaching, she is now well on the road to Senior Director. “One of the most important factors in building a successful Melaleuca business is having a positive mindset. This is especially important when you’re going through some rough days. Throughout my journey, I have had some people who never thought I would amount to much. That only made me stronger and want to work even harder to achieve the success I’ve envisioned for myself, and prove those people wrong,” shares Ai Ling, saying that a great support team also plays a big role in motivating you and keeping you going. “It helps when you have people who know what you’re going through as they have been on the same road before. That pillar of support and strength is absolutely crucial,” she continues. Looking back at how far she has come and what she has achieved has only strengthened her belief that all roads truly lead to Melaleuca.

Ai Ling and her family are now living the lives that they dreamed of, with no stress or financial worries. “My achievement is testimony that with hard work, effort and perseverance, anyone can find success in Melaleuca. I’m so thankful Melaleuca has empowered me to help others achieve the same,” she concludes.
