A stay at home who achieves Senior director 8 and monthly 5 digit residual income that help family monthly expenditure in Butterworth, Penang.
2018 was an amazing year for Senior Director 8 Emily Tan. She enrolled seventy eight personal customers, and developed ten Directors, six Directors 2, five Directors 3, three Directors 4, two Directors 5 and a Director 6. She also advanced nine. statuses from Director 8 to Senior Director 8, and almost quadrupled her organization customer count. Certainly not a small feat, considering how introverted Emily used to be. Emily credits Melaleuca for bringing her out of her shell. “Through Melaleuca, I learned to open up and befriend others, be more confident, and learned how to lead,” Emily explains.
Emily credits the growth of her business to consistency in doing two income-producing activities, namely enrolling Preferred Customers and developing Directors. “Last year, my goal was to enroll four to six Preferred Customers per month and develop one Director every alternate month, and I was able to achieve more than that,” Emily shares. Knowing that both personal and team activities are equally as important, Emily sets out to accomplish her own enrollments in the first half of the month and spends the second half teaming up with her personal Directors. In that second half of the month, she develops new leadership in her organization.
“Developing leadership is like raising a child–you need to be with them in their growing stage,” she says. Emily starts by identifying their ‘Why’ and helping them to get into the right mindset of switching stores and understanding how and why Melaleuca is a different company. She also helps them engage in important business-building activities ranging from adding names to their contact list, sharing Melaleuca: An Overview, doing product demonstrations and such. “I work very closely with all new business partners, until they advance to at least Director 3. This is because I want to ensure they are building the business the right way, and that they are independent enough to manage their own business with minimum supervision,” Emily explains. “A strong organization needs a system that could be duplicated as the organization grows, and this method can be easily duplicated.”
Emily advises other business builders starting out on their Melaleuca journey to build a product-focused business, instead of solely focusing on the income. “Whenever I share Melaleuca or identify a potential business builder, I lead with the products alongside the lucrative compensation plan Melaleuca has to offer,” says Emily, who believes it’s important to start by sharing about Melaleuca’s exceptional products at reasonable prices.
She strongly encourages them to start by experiencing the products and falling in love with them. “Only when you have experienced a wide range of products, you will become a strong product advocate,” Emily explains. For Emily, building a Melaleuca business has enhanced her and her family’s lives in so many ways, and not just in terms of physical and financial wellness. “I realized the biggest change was probably myself. I went from an introverted stay-at-home mother, to becoming a successful business builder,” Emily says. This change is something that has made her stand up tall and proud.
“When I left the workforce to become a stay-at-home mother, my parents were very disappointed as they wanted me to do more with my life. My achievements with my Melaleuca business have made them proud of me, as I showed them how I’m able to achieve both business and personal life goals at the same time.”
Emily looks forward to helping more business partners reach their goals, and have set a goal of reaching Executive Director 2 this year.
