Sean Wong & Wynnie Lim
A carpenter who couldn’t afford his own house achieves Executive Director 6 and finally provide a home for his family of 4 with monthly 5 digit residual income.
Executive Directors 4 Sean Wong and Wynnie Lim strongly believe in living life according to the Melaleuca mission statement of enhancing lives by helping others reach their goals. “No man is an island, and no matter how much effort you put in as an individual, your business will not go far if you don’t have the support of a team,” explains Sean, saying that when you help others reach their goals, the accomplishment of your own goals will feel even more significant. It is through helping others that Sean and Wynnie found themselves advancing to their current status, just a few short months after their previous advancement. “When we look at growing our organization, we don’t only work hand-in-hand with our support team and our personals, we try our very best to help everyone in our organization. Anytime our business partners need our help with products or business related queries, we will always try our best to accommodate them. Even if our partners are in other regions, we will arrange time to assist them. With technology being so prevalent, geography is no longer a factor. We hold video conferencing with our out-of-town business partners, so that we’re able to help them pair their goals versus their activities and walk them through any challenges they face,” Sean says. The couple says that this helps to set good examples of leadership and their business builders will follow suit as well in helping their own partners grow.
Sean and Wynnie started their Melaleuca journey 3 years ago, on a quest to strike a better balance between work and life. To their amazement, Melaleuca gave them that and more. The residual income the couple receive have afforded them time and financial freedom, and increased their family’s time together. “We’re able to spend real quality time with our 3 kids, creating indelible memories together. Not only that, just last year, we purchased a new home and enrolled our daughter in an International school. All these would not have been within grasp if we didn’t build our Melaleuca business,” Wynnie shares. This is why the couple are on a mission to help other families achieve the same. They know how hard it was to strike a good balance between work and family with traditional careers, and they have experienced the power of residual income with Melaleuca and know how it can help transform other families as well. “We want to help more families earn long-lasting residual income with Melaleuca, so that they can lead comfortable, stress-free and more importantly, healthier lives,” Wynnie stresses. For new business builders, the couple always stress on 3 things that they should know−conveying the message of switching stores, their WHY and how to carry out the 7 Critical Business Building Activities. “To build the business, first and foremost, you need to be a product user yourself. If the products are not something you believe in, how ncan you advocate it to others?” Wynnie quips. Knowing why they want to build the business is also crucial, as their WHY is the tinder that keeps their fire burning, enabling them to go far and sustain in this business. “There will be tough and challenging times, and throughout it all, keeping your WHY in mind is great motivation to help you persevere in this business,” Sean says. Business builders also need to keep in mind the 7 Critical Activities,
“…When we look at growing our organization, we don’t only work hand in-hand with our support team and our personals, we try our very best to help
everyone in our organization.” even if they have achieved some measure of success in this business. Sean and Wynnie cautioned about the dangers of being comfortable and complacent in the wake of success. “Once you get too comfortable and forget about carrying out your daily activities, the harder it is to pick it up again. This is why Wynnie and I never let our guards down when it comes to our daily activities. We still consistently add new names to our contact list, make calls, enrol and follow up with customers. Consistently carrying out these activities are the key to success,” says Sean. The couple have averaged seven enrolments
per month since the beginning of this year. The couple believes that the examples they have set will be in good stead with their business partners, and this helps to create a healthy environment where everyone can thrive. “As it is, people will always do 50% of what you do and 100% of what you don’t do. So, it is crucial to set a good foundation for your team from the very beginning and guide your team to build the business right through by leading by example,” the couple notes, saying that in turn, your builders will then pick up these good leadership traits which will eventually create a delightful ripple effect. nSean and Wynnie are glad that Melaleuca has come into and enhanced their life, and say that the time and financial freedom gained with developing Melaleuca, and helping others do the same, keeps them moving forward. Keeping that in mind, the couple have set their sights on advancing to Executive Director 6 by the end of 2018.
